The
WHY, HOW, & WHEN of Rejoicing
Matthew
25:21 NASB "His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful slave.
You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things;
enter into the joy of your master.'
Biblical
Joy differs from Happiness in cause and duration.
Happiness
is situational: A good phone call can cause it and a bad one can take it away.
Joy
is possible when the situation is difficult.
I am reminded of the widow who gave the two mites. She did not have material things and she gave
all she had. Her joy came from a
spiritual fountain that only Jesus gives.
Happiness
is temporal; there is pleasure in sin for a season.
Joy
is eternal and comes when we have the right relationship with
JESUS
CHRIST.
