What does it take to be a Citizen of God’s Kingdom (Lesson 3)

Luke 13:28-30 NASB  "In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.  (29)  "And they will come from east and west and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God.  (30)  "And behold, some are last who will be first and some are first who will be last."

Citizenship in the Kingdom of God requires the credentials of a personal relationship with Christ.  In the career world, it has been said, “it is not what you know but who you know”.  In the spiritual world, it is “Who knows you”.

How can we know that Jesus knows us?  Paul tells us in Romans 10:13, “who so ever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”.  Paul also tells us in Romans 8:16, “the Holy Spirit Himself testifies with our very spirit that we are children of God”.

If you do not know Jesus as your Savior, Call on him.  Church attendance, offering, Baptism, and Prayer can all be done in Jesus’ name.  None of these makes you a citizen of the Kingdom of God.

You must be born again to gain citizenship.
