1 Samuel 15:32-35 KJVR
(32)
Then
said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag
came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is
past.
(33)
And
Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be
childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in
Gilgal.
(34)
Then
Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul.
(35)
And
Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel
mourned for Saul: and the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.
Disobedient
servants face God’s judgment. Saul had
to answer to God for his disobedience and it cost him the Kingdom. People today seem to take no thought as to
the consequences of their disobedience. God
takes our disobedience seriously. One
thing that was true in Saul’s day and it is still true today, is that unrepentant
servants make shallow confessions.
Saul
asked Samuel to pardon him. He wasn’t
sincere. How many times do we see the
same thing repeated today? We have a
form of Godliness but certainly deny the power that God has. God withdrew from Saul and he was
shocked. People today wonder why they no
longer have God’s blessings. Could it be
that due to our rebellious nature that God has withdrawn from us.
When
we rebel against God we will suffer His wrath.
God withdrew from Saul and by the way, God didn’t forget about
Agag. He sent Samuel to kill him.
My
friends we must always listen and heed God’s commands. If we do not we will most certainly suffer
His wrath.
